Built on the foundation of educational equity and opportunity, the AB540 and Undocumented Student Center at UC Davis strives to empower undocumented students, their families and members of the community in being informed leaders and active participants in our communities. The Center strives to educate and build awareness of changing policies affecting California's undocumented population. We acknowledge that immigration status is one aspect of an individual’s identity that does not solely define a person or their capacity. We promote a holistic approach to recruitment and retention of students in higher education, taking into account a student’s mental, emotional, and financial well-being.

The Academic and Staff Assistance Program (ASAP) provides confidential, cost-free assessment, counseling, consultation, and referral services for all UC Davis/UC Davis Health faculty, staff and their adult family members.

→ Administrative Management Group (ADMAN)

The University of California, Davis Administrative Management Group (ADMAN) is a professional organization of middle managers with an impressive track record of accomplishing its goals and objectives. ADMAN has acted as a broad-based planning resource group for the administration for many years. The group is committed to enhancing the individual member’s effectiveness in their area of responsibility. ADMAN also functions as a network of peers who meet to discuss management and problem-solving issues.

The Aggie Compass is a comfortable space for students to build community and learn about basic needs resources, pick up fresh fruits and vegetables, receive CalFresh enrollment assistance and help finding stable housing.

→ Aggie Info and Help Line

The Aggie Info and Help Line has a trained student staff from the Aggie Public Health Ambassador Program to respond to questions regarding COVID-related return-to-campus concerns. This info line is part of the Aggie Compass Basic Needs Center and addresses non-crisis questions as well as provide referrals. Answers are provided through information available on public official campus web pages. Visit their site to find FAQs or submit your own. You can also call 530-752-4636 from 9am-7pm Monday-Friday.

Aggie Mental Health Ambassadors 

Aggie Mental Health Ambassadors (AMHAs) are undergraduate and graduate students working with public health professionals to serve the UC Davis community to fill a long-standing gap in understanding about mental and emotional well-being. AMHA’s participate in ongoing public mental health training including inclusivity, suicide prevention, evidence-based practices to support well-being, and accessing UC Davis campus resources.

→ Aggie Public Health Ambassadors

Aggie Public Health Ambassadors are a team of undergraduate students who are promoting healthy behavior choices to reduce transmission of COVID-19 through campus protocols and monitoring campus locations. They will be handing out face coverings, pointing out COVID-19 screening locations, and tips on staying healthy. Their website has more information on how to share responsibility and accountability.

→ Aggies for Recovery

Aggies for Recovery aims to provide students who are struggling with addiction or dependency of any kind with a support system of like-minded individuals and a safe space to discuss personal issues.  The group members work toward abstinence, but welcome people in all stages of recovery. RISE stands for Recover, Inspire, Support, Empower. It is an official student group on the UC Davis campus. 

→ Alcohol, Tobacco & Other Drugs Intervention Services (ATOD)

Offered by Student Health and Counseling Services, ATOD provides alcohol/drug assessments, interventions and referrals through education, groups, risk reduction and relapse prevention counseling. ATOD Intervention Services works to empower students to make healthy and responsible choices concerning use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs. Strategies to reduce ATOD-related barriers to academic and social success are primary intervention goals.

→ Ann E. Pitzer Center

The Ann E. Pitzer Center is an acoustically rich venue for concerts by students, faculty, and visiting artists. A wide range of performances are scheduled throughout each quarter, many of which offer free admission. 

→ Arboretum and Public Garden

UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden spans the campus’s 5300-plus acres and includes the historic Arboretum a rare stream and grassland ecosystem managed for teaching, research, wildlife and habitat protection. We steward our campus grounds as a resource for encouraging our students and community members to become environmental leaders, for the public to learn about climate change and the importance of regionally appropriate landscaping, for visitors to informally explore the academic richness of UC Davis.

→ Archives and Special Collections

Archives and Special Collections welcomes students, faculty, visiting scholars and members of the general public to explore the Library’s rare books and pamphlets, manuscript collections, photographs, the University Archives, and the Map Collection. The Department’s major purposes are to acquire these materials, make them available for use, and preserve their integrity for future generations.

→ Asian Pacific American Systemwide Alliance (APASA)

The mission of APASA is to promote the general welfare and interests of the Asian Pacific American faculty, staff and students at UC Davis. APASA members:

  • Serve as leaders and official representatives of the Asian Pacific American community at UC Davis
  • Strengthen professional and social relationships between Asian Pacific American staff, faculty and the University

→ ASUCD Entertainment Council

The Entertainment Council is a student run unit of ASUCD that books and hosts concerts, open mic nights, moving screenings, and other events on campus for the student body. They represent UC Davis's student voice for all things music & media.

→ Basement Gallery

The Basement Gallery is a student-run organization located in the basement of UC Davis' art department. They schedule exhibitions that feature student work and promote diverse forms of expression without censorship. To generate an environment that is welcoming to all, the gallery advocates for diversity, creativity, and originality.

→ Campus Community Book Project

The UC Davis Campus Community Book Project (CCBP) promotes dialogue and builds community by encouraging diverse members of the campus and surrounding communities to read the same book and attend related events. Its mission is to improve both the campus climate and community relations, foster diversity, and promote equity and inclusiveness. Each year, CCBP invites all members of the campus and greater community to nominate books for the upcoming CCBP cycle. Campus Council on Community and Diversity (CCC&D)

The Campus Council on Community and Diversity (CCC&D), is an advisory body to the Chancellor and the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor. The overarching responsibility for the Council is to provide both campus leaders and the campus community with advice concerning ways to strengthen and maintain the bonds of community at UC Davis. In particular, the charge includes providing advice on:

  • Actions required to ensure that our students, faculty, staff and administration better reflect the richness of California's ethnic and cultural diversity.
  • Strategies to ensure that the environment of UC Davis is welcoming and inclusive of the cultural differences and knowledge bases of all Californians and, indeed, of all people of the world

The Campus Ready website has materials and resources for UC Davis students & families, staff & faculty, and Davis community members about guidance returning to campus. Currently, this information focuses on spreading the word about healthy behaviors & practices, public health policies, and COVID-related information (ie. testing, vaccine information, workplace, etc.)

 Campus Recreation

UC Davis Campus Recreation is an inclusive environment where everyone is welcome regardless of background or level of experience. With six centers, 11 program areas and five outdoor fields, Campus Recreation can help you find your center.

→ Campus Recreation Craft Center 

The Craft Center is the perfect place to learn a skill or perfect an art form you're already familiar with. We offer small class sizes, so students can plenty of hands-on interaction and advice from our instructors. These classes are also recreational, creating a stress-free environment where you can just focus on being creative!

We have on campus has 10 different studios in which students and community members can work on their projects. Anyone with prior experience in a particular type of art may use our studio space after purchasing a Quarter / Day Pass.

→ Center for Advocacy, Resources and Education (CARE) 

A program within the UC Davis Office of the Provost, is dedicated to reducing the incidence and impact of sexual harassment and sexual violence. CARE provides confidential advocacy, support, and healing services to survivors of sexual harassment and all forms of sexual violence, including sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and stalking. They also facilitate prevention programming and professional training, and serve as subject matter experts with regard to victim dynamics, impact of trauma, bystander intervention, and social norm change.

→ Center for African Diaspora Student Success 

Focused on the retention, persistence, and graduation of all undergraduate students of the African diaspora at the University of California, Davis. As a team, we systemize institutional collaborations and academic partnerships to create a synergistic approach tailored toward African diaspora student success.

→ Center for Chicanx and Latinx Academic Student Success (CCLASS) 

The core mission of CCLASS is to provide an academic support space where students thrive as scholars and unique individuals. The center's practices and services are grounded in the following three priorities:

  • Access: Get connected to community, academic, and social support.
  • Academics: Learn strategies and best practices for the classroom.
  • Empowerment: Discover leadership and career development opportunities and explore employment opportunities.

→ Center for Professional Practice of Nursing

The Center for Professional Practice of Nursing (CPPN) works towards providing quality education for nurses and allied health professionals at UC Davis Health and the community through the changes in environment and climate impacting the practice. They are committed to supporting individuals to advance to their paths of speciality practices and certifications. CPPN wants to reflect both premium patient care and professional satisfaction. The CPPN based education is free of charge for UC Davis Health staff. These learning opportunities serve as a hub throughout Northern California via in-person instruction, distance learning, and online-based education programs.

→ Chancellor's Committee on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual Issues (CCLGBTQIA)

The Chancellor’s Committee on LGBTQIA+ Communities (CCLGBTQIA+) is committed to advancing equity, building intersectional coalitions, fostering the health and well-being of our communities, and creating a more inclusive campus environment. The committee advocates to the Chancellor and senior administrators on the needs and concerns of UC Davis LGBTQIA+ communities, and strives to support our communities with relevant resources, connection to community, and networking opportunities.

We are a staff, faculty and student organization open to all UC Davis affiliates who share an interest in promoting campus LGBTQIA+ initiatives and the well-being of LGBTQIA+ members of the UC Davis and UC Davis Health campus.

→ Clinician Health and Wellbeing

The UC Davis Health Clinician Health and Well-being Program (CHWB) is committed to supporting the well-being and health of our clinicians, enabling them to continue to provide high quality patient care. The program was initiated in 2017 by the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences in partnership with a number of UC Davis Health departments. The program houses a multidisciplinary education program that is dedicated to improving the lives of clinicians through education and research.

Culture Days, managed by the UC Davis Cross Cultural Center, are exciting celebrations throughout the year for various cultural communities.

→ Davis Feminist Film Festival

The Davis Feminist Film Festival is an annual grassroots event that uses alternative media as a springboard for linking art to social issues. The festival aims to showcase independent film (including documentary, narrative, and experimental genres) in order to explore perspectives often missing from mainstream media and culture. Taking place each May, The Davis Feminist Film Festival welcomes short films from local, national, and international creators, and from professionals, students, and community members alike.

→ Design Museum

Enhancing the teaching and research activities of the Department of Design, the UC Davis Design Museum explores how design shapes, improves and makes economically viable the objects, technology and environments we use, inhabit and experience every day. Admission is free for all. Exhibitions change by quarter. During spring quarter of each year, the museum highlights undergraduate and graduate student work.

→ Diabetes Prevention Program

The group-based Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) includes 22 sessions during a 1-year period. Goals are to achieve and maintain a 7% weight loss with healthy eating and an active lifestyle. The program can reduce your chance of developing Type 2 Diabetes by 58% if you’re under age 60 and 71% age 60 and older. This program is administered by Staff and Faculty Health and Well-being.

→ Disability Issues Administrative Advisory Committee (DIAAC)

The Disability Issues Administrative Advisory Committee advises the Chancellor (through Associate Executive Vice Chancellor-Campus Community Relations) on policies and procedures affecting persons with disabilities relative to employment, educational opportunities, and removal of architectural barriers.

Committee membership includes administrators, faculty, graduate and undergraduate students and staff. 

→ Disability Management Services

Disability Management Services (DMS) provides assistance to staff, faculty, supervisors, and managers on all aspects of disability management, compliance and reasonable accommodations. This program provides guidance on all aspects of disability management, Americans with Disabilities Act compliance, and reasonable accommodations, whether work-related or non-industrial.

→ Emergency Notification Systems

WarnMe is part of UC Davis' commitment to providing a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors. UC Davis WarnMe messages, together with Aggie Alerts and Health System Alerts, provide faculty, staff and students with timely information and instructions during emergencies or other urgent situations that may directly affect their well-being. The system can send simultaneous messages by e-mail, text, telephone and mobile phone. The system complements other UC Davis communications including use of the Web, social media and news media outreach.

→ WorkLife | Financial Wellness

Financial pressures can impact productivity, engagement, absence rates, retention and even employee health. People often avoid managing financial wellness because it is fraught with personal taboos, takes time and effort, and people often lack confidence in their financial literacy. WorkLife has compiled a comprehensive list of resources available to current support employees as well as listings of upcoming Travis Credit Union Financial Literacy Series sessions.

UC Davis urges all students, staff and academics to receive the seasonal vaccine. → Guide to Outdoor Structure

Learn about the contemporary outdoor art scattered all around the campus landscape, which ranges from works by well-known contemporary California artists who were faculty in the Department of Art, to projects produced by former UC Davis students. 

→ Harassment & Discrimination Assistance and Prevention Program (HDAPP) 

This program assists individuals and campus units report and resolve conflicts and complaints related to harassment, discrimination, hate, and sexual violence. HDAPP is the central office for taking reports and maintaining records for these types of complaints.

→ Healing HeARTS

Healing HeARTS is an employee art exhibit launched by UC Davis Health. The art gallery showcases the unique artistic talents of employees while promoting creativity, collaboration, and inspiration. UC Davis Health faculty and staff are invited to participate in the program by submitting their art for consideration to be part of the gallery.

Health Management and Education

Provides health education in an online and classroom setting to address various chronic conditions, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and promote self management skills for stress, nutrition, weight, pain, quitting tobacco and more. The classes are mostly free of charge and are open to patients, employees and retirees. In addition to providing interactive education classes and series, the department delivers personalized and engaging case management by Registered Nurses, Social Workers, Registered Dietitians, and Pharmacists to our ambulatory patient population. → Healthy Davis Together

Healthy Davis Together involves the City of Davis and UC Davis working together to facilitate a gradual, coordinated return while preventing the spread of COVID-19 in Davis. Health promotion and epidemiology is brought together on campus and throughout the city to keep the Davis community healthy. → Healthy Department Certification

The Healthy Department Certification is designed to highlight those departments that are making strides toward practicing and promoting health and well-being in the workplace. The application focuses on nine areas of well-being and aims to start a conversation on where your department is doing well as well as highlight areas that have room for improvement. Administered by the Staff and Faculty Health and Well-being program.

Comprehensive resources page sharing the diverse health and well-being benefits of time in nature and the outdoors. The page also includes a resources map to find quiet community spaces, active reecreation, animal viewing, outdoor classrooms, and more that are on campus. The campaign has three themes: Move Outside (encouraging movement & physical activity), Restore Outside (peaceful outdoor spaces), and Grow Outside (sustainability, gardening, & other opportunities).

The Lactation Support Program (LSP) provides university affiliates and their partners with lactation consultations, support group meetings, and the use of hospital grade breastpumps located in nearly 50 lactation sites on the UC Davis campus and 20 at UC Davis Health. Community members are able to attend our classes and support groups.

Provides an open, safe, inclusive space and community. The LGBTQIA Resource Center promotes education as well as space for self-exploration about all sexes, genders and sexualities and their intersections with other identities.

Our vision for the LGBTQIA Resource Center is a space where students, staff, faculty and community members from all sexes, gender identities, gender expressions, sexualities and asexualities are welcomed and celebrated. An environment that develops pride where there is a history of shame, empowerment where there is a history of oppression, healing where there has been a history of trauma, and joy where there is a history of sorrow.

→ Manetti Shrem Museum

The Manetti Shrem Museum serves both the public and the university community with a dynamic artistic program. It presents exhibitions and events that advance students' understanding of their place in the world, connects to faculty teaching and research, and creates a lively forum for community engagement and creative practice. It is open Thursday through Monday, including holidays, and is free for all. 

→ Medical Staff Well-being Committee

The purpose of UC Davis Medical Center's Medical Staff Well-Being Committee is to support the health and wellness of our Medical Staff members, and in so doing, protect patient welfare, improve patient care, and improve Medical Staff functioning.  The Committee works to achieve this purpose through prevention of, and intervention in, alcohol-related, drug-related, and behavioral problems affecting members of the Medical Staff.  

→ MIND Institute | Distinguished Lecturer Series 

Program of public lectures by nationally and internationally-recognized researchers in neurodevelopmental disabilities. These monthly presentations are intended for both specialists and community members. All lectures start at 4:30pm and end by 6pm. All lectures are free and open to the public and no reservations are necessary.

→ Mindful Awareness Practice (MAP) Course 

Learn how to develop a personal mindfulness meditation practice that can promote health and well-being. This 6-session course is designed to prepare you to apply mindfulness in daily life, through lectures, experiential exercises and group discussions in a supportive community environment.

The course is offered through Staff and Faculty Health and Well-being, it is suitable for those who are new to mindfulness as well as those who would like to revitalize their practice and is offered at no cost to UC Davis Staff and Faculty. 

→ Mindfulness Ambassadors 

The UC Davis Staff and Faculty Health and Well-being Program offers guidance and support for this program through our Mindfulness Ambassadors Community Meetings to gather, learn about supporting mindfulness in the workplace, identify mindfulness-based resources, and share ideas. Whether it’s posting a mindfulness quote on a bulletin board, organizing a group mindfulness walk, scheduling a silent mindful eating lunch or reserving a room where fellow employees can meditate - Mindfulness Ambassadors can help to create a mindfulness friendly work environment.   

→ Mindfulness Meditation 

Organized by Staff and Faculty Health and Well-being, these sessions include both mindfulness and heartfulness (e.g., loving kindness) practices - both of which are receiving increasing scientific support as an effective way to manage stress and promote wellbeing.

In addition, individual departments can access various group interventions including process-oriented groups, debriefings following a particularly challenging medical outcome, as well as facilitated discussions on topics such as managing burnout, impostor syndrome, navigating personal relationships and healthy communication in the medical milieu. Support is also available to program directors and faculty who might benefit from input on how best to support the well-being of trainees.

A comprehensive academic support unit created to promote a culture of academic excellence at UC Davis School of Medicine. OSLER provides services designed to assist students at all levels of medical education in developing sophisticated learning strategies to support academic success in medical school and to promote life-long learning. Educational Skills Specialists are available to work one-on-one with students helping them to assess their academic needs and develop and implement individualized learning plans. OSLER also provides services to support medical students as developing professionals including workshops related to effective learning techniques, study tools and resources, and preparation for exams.

This Office offers coaching to students, staff, and faculty for university-related issues and concerns with confidential, independent, impartial, informal problem-solving and conflict management. Individual meetings with an Ombuds can help you to better understand the conflict, offer a neutral perspective and develop strategies to address concerns in a way that feels most comfortable to you. Mediation services are also offered, to give the parties involved an opportunity to reach a greater understanding of the underlying issues and work toward a resolution.

Information and Educational Technology provides six open access compute labs for campus use. These labs are available to any campus affiliate with a UCD LoginID. All open access labs have black and white printing, color printing, and scanners available. The IET Computer Classrooms can also be used for drop-in use when there are not classes scheduled.  Specialized software and hardware are also available in computer rooms.

We assist incoming and current international students and scholars, and their families with visa and immigration issues while they are at UC Davis. In addition to preparing the necessary documents to apply for a U.S. visa, SISS assists international students and scholars in maintaining their legal status while in the United States. SISS also provides orientation, assistance, information, and referral to international students, faculty, and researchers regarding financial, personal, cultural, and academic concerns.

Formed in 2008, the Status of Women Administrative Advisory Committee (SWADAAC) is charged with the following:

→ Student Disability Center 

The Student Disability Center (SDC) is staffed by team of professionals who have expertise in the education of students with disabilities. Student Disability Center Specialists receive requests for accommodation, approve services and coordinate accommodations to establish equal access to the University’s educational programs. While accommodation information is shared on a “need to know” basis in order to facilitate services, disability information kept confidential and does not appear on transcripts or diplomas. 

The SDC also provides resources to Instructors of Record, staff, and TAs to ensure that students enrolled in their classes have access to the classroom accommodations and services outlined in each student’s Letter of Accommodation. These may include, but are not limited to: Testing Accommodations, Consideration for Absences, permission to Audio Record Lectures, and Note Takers. Staff, academics, students and retirees are invited to join us for gentle meditation in motion! Tai Chi is both an exercise and a martial art that focuses on health and relaxation. Participants perform basic warm-up exercises, stretches, forms, and martial technique. The sessions help put busy lives in do-not-disturb mode, to make time to breathe, relax, and become more grounded in the present moment.

→ TAPS Mobility Assistance Shuttle

Transportation Services (TAPS), in collaboration with Student Disability Center and Human Resources Disability Management Services, provides transport services for mobility impaired students, faculty, staff, and UCD guests who either have a temporary or permanent disability.

→ The Pantry 

Provides fresh produce and bread, shelf-stable food items, and basic necessities to students facing food insecurity. Students must present a valid UC Davis ID Card in order to take up to three items per day. Located in the east wing of the Memorial Union.

→ Transfer and Reentry Center 

Assists all transfer students (junior college or community college to UC Davis, UC to UC Davis, out of state to UC Davis) and reentry students. They strive to address the needs of the whole student and offer assistance with academics, adjusting to UC Davis, and finding resources to address specific concerns.

For the UC Davis international business traveler, the UC Davis Travel Medicine Program offers the following services at no charge to you, your grant, or your department:

→ UC Davis Staff Assembly

UC Davis Staff Assembly is dedicated to promoting the welfare, interests, and diversity of staff, the campus and the University of California. The UC Davis Staff Assembly meets regularly with UC Davis administration on a range of issues important to staff and works to enhance communication among the university community along with proposing and sponsoring programs and activities committed to the interests of staff.

Every UC Davis staff person is a member of Staff Assembly. To get more involved in your Staff Assembly, please attend one of the monthly General Meetings, held on the second Tuesday of every month, or come meet up with us at one of our events!

→ UC Davis Staff Diversity Administrative Advisory Committee (SDAAC)

SDAAC is charged with advising the Chancellor via the Associate Executive Vice Chancellor for Campus Community Relations regarding the campus Comprehensive Diversity Action Plan on matters related to staff. The committee reviews:

  • Staff related affirmative action programs and recommends activities;
  • Recommends Diversity Education and Training programs;
  • Advises the campus senior administration regarding general employment related policy issues; and
  • Participates in the planning and offering of campus programs to promote diversity and inclusion.

At large and student members apply on-line through the Administrative Advisory Committee Website (aac.ucdavis.edu). The AEVC for the Office of Campus Community Relations reviews applications and selects committee members to serve for a two year term. Constituent Groups hold a standing membership on SDAAC and each constituency group shall nominate their current chairs or members to represent their organization on SDAAC.

The African American Faculty and Staff Association (AAFSA) is an organization of Black faculty and staff at University of California, Davis that addresses issues impacting the African diaspora on campus and in the surrounding communities. Justice, equitable treatment, and inclusion comprise AAFSA’s core reason for being, and the effort needed to realize these ideas compels AAFSA to act.

→ Women’s Resources & Research Center (WRRC) 

The WRRC's mission is to promote gender equity and social justice. We provide a place for students and the Davis community to learn about resources and to attend educational programs that focus on gender equity and social justice. It is a great place to meet friends and get involved with on-campus events and student organizations working to address sexism, cissexism, and all forms of oppression. The WRRC provides opportunities for students to take part in making UC Davis safer and more inclusive for everyone, specifically for people with marginalized gender identities, including, but not limited to: womxn, transgender, nonbinary, and gender expansive individuals. The Student Parent closet provides student parents school supplies, diapers, pull-ups, toothbrushes, and a variety of community resource information.
