Take the Stairs!
Healthy UC Davis is launching a “Take the Stairs!”campaign in the Education Building on the UC Davis Health campus and in the Memorial Union on the Davis campus.
The campaign positions “point of decision” prompts at strategic elevator banks encouraging students, faculty, staff, and visitors to use the stairs instead of the elevator.
Why?
Research shows that using the stairs for even just a few minutes a day can save you time and have important health benefits like reducing your risk of heart attack and stroke. For those that are able, choosing to take the stairs instead of the elevator is a simple way to integrate healthy movement into your day. Sometimes all it takes is a simple reminder that a free workout is just around the corner!
The “Take the Stairs” campaign has engaged numerous stakeholders on campus to ensure that our messaging supports a positive culture shift towards a healthier campus!
