The Aggie Mental Health Ambassadors (AMHAs) are undergraduate and graduate students working with public health professionals to serve the UC Davis community to fill a long-standing gap in understanding about mental and emotional well-being.
AMHA’s participate in ongoing public mental health training including inclusivity, suicide prevention, evidence-based practices to support well-being, and accessing UC Davis campus resources.
This grant helps champion a culture of health and well-being throughout the UC Davis community by advocating for an institutional practice of increased support through family visits to campus so that Native American students can more easily thrive academically and socially.
This project will provide several informational sessions discussing suicide, research and tools on prevention, and how to fight suicide in collaboration with AFSP and UC Davis mental health resources.
This project will promote emotional well-being through creative art expressions for
undocumented students. After initial funding and success in 2021 with its pilot, it is now being relaunched in fall 2023.
This project is a medical improv workshop focused on helping healthcare providers and trainees navigate difficult conversations with topics ranging from motivational interviewing patients to negotiating boundaries with colleagues and supervisors.
This program is designed to give student parents the time and resources to concentrate on their holistic well-being, which positively contributes to their health and academic success. Furthermore, their children benefit when student parents are doing well.
GPS seeks to increase available social support from peers within the graduate student community of UC Davis – benefiting students psychologically, academically, and professionally.
